Wilson's top badminton athlete Jonas Rasmussen and his doubles partner
Lars Paaske won the 2008 Japan Open, securing the title with 21-17,
15-21, 21-13, in the final. Rasmussen is Wilson's #1 Badminton
ambassador and as a result of his performance, has now a #6 ranking in
the world.Rasmussen and Paaske were strong the entire tournament and they didn't drop a single game until the final. "This victory means a lot to us", said Rasmussen. "We didn't know them, so we didn't know what to expect, but we were quite good in adapting our game." This title helped 30-year-old Rasmussen top what is already a very strong season. This is a big accomplishment for Rasmussen and Paaske who ended up just short of the Olympic medal ranks, losing a hard fought battle in the semifinals. This year's successes include a Gold medal in both the European Championships and European Team Championships.
"Jonas can be proud of his performance and how much he has accomplished this past year, especially now with the Super Series title which crowns his already successful season ", Alexander Selch, Global Business Director of Indoor Racquet Sports for Wilson said.
Rasmussen won using his [K] Tour badminton racket featuring Wilson's exclusive [K] Factor technology. He also wears Wilson's footwear and apparel and just recently renewed his contract with Wilson. All this emphasizes Rasmussen's confidence in the performance of his [K] Factor racket and competitive advantage it provides, all part of the reason why Rasmussen continued his partnership.
